About Bettencourt

Maggie started at CommuniCare+OLE in 2024. She received her MSW from Sacramento State University in 2024 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Sacramento State University. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, Maggie worked as a victim advocate at the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office assisting victims of crime, was a behavioral health intern for veterans in transitional housing at the VA in Mather, CA, and was a behavioral health intern on the mental health diversion team at CommuniCare+Ole before getting hired as a clinician in 2024. She specializes in populations discriminated against the criminal justice system with issues surrounding homelessness, addiction, and trauma.

My approach to care

My care philosophy is to approach clients from all walks of life with compassion and respect, providing a well-rounded clinical approach to any mental health or substance use disorder they may be living through.

Why I went into healthcare

I became a behavioral health clinician because my goal is to to support individuals who are at one of the lowest points in their life process the events and become resilient from their experiences.

Something you might not know about me

Something you might not know about me is that I enjoy taming and rehabilitating rescue parrots, find my peace in hiking/backpacking, absolutely love running, and enjoy eating all types of food!
