Sara Gavin

Chief Behavioral and Community Health Officer (She/Her)

Sara Gavin (she/her) serves as the Chief Behavioral and Community Health Officer for CommuniCare+OLE. Sara has provided and administered substance use and behavioral health services in non-profit settings for over 20 years. Sara began with CommuniCare+OLE in in 2007 and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, receiving her undergraduate degrees from USC, a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College, and is an alumna of the Clinic Leadership Institute. In 2021, Sara was awarded Woman of the Year by Congressman Garamendi’s office and in 2023, received the Mental Health Luminary Award by NAMI Yolo. Sara serves on various community and state-wide advisory committees representing behavioral health and FQHCs. Sara is passionate about healthcare as a fundamental right and the integration of trauma-informed, multi-disciplinary health services, including behavioral health and substance use treatment, as essential components of healthcare.
