Giving Back

Looking for an opportunity to serve your community? CommuniCare+OLE is always in need of volunteers to help with our vaccine clinics, outreach events, and more! If you’re looking for something with more regular hours that is longer-term, we also have special volunteer positions in our health centers. Our volunteers are a crucial part of our team that helps us build happier and healthier communities in Napa County, Fairfield-Suisun, and Yolo County.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Greeters at our health centers
  • Medical assistance at vaccine clinic and mobile health events
  • Registration and check in assistance at community events and clinics
  • Food distribution at our monthly fruit and veggie giveaways
  • Working with our HR, HIT, and clinic program staff

No special training is required. However, CommuniCare+OLE requires all volunteers to undergo a background check and be 18 years of age or older. Longer-Term Health Center Volunteer Opportunities

What documents are required to be cleared to volunteer at CommuniCare+OLE?

All volunteers are required to provide the following:

  • Record of MMR Immunization or proof of immunity (Titer)
  • Record of Hepatitis B Immunization or proof of immunity (Titer) 
  • Record of Varicella Immunization or proof of immunity (Titer)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster
  • Negative TB Test results (dated within 12 months)
  • Proof of current seasonal Flu Vaccine – during flu season Nov. 1 – March 31

Additionally, upon acceptance into a volunteer position, the candidate can expect to receive an onboarding packet requiring signatures for signed agreements and policies, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, and a CommuniCare+OLE Volunteer and Student Safety training manual and quiz. 

Student learners and licensed health professionals completing a student learning experience can also expect to submit additional certification and licensure documents (if applicable). These requirements will be laid out in the onboarding packet an accepted student would receive.

Starting as an all-volunteer run clinic in 1972, volunteerism has always been at the core of our organization, and as we grew and our name changed, the contributions of volunteers have continued to be welcomed at all levels of the organization.
