PAY RANGE: $32.95 to $40.27 hourly 
LOCATION: West Fairfield or Davis
JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW: (summarize purpose/overview of this job):The Staff Accountant is responsible assisting in maintaining and analyzing accounting information including general ledger activity.   Assist with payroll preparation, purchase order, vendor entry and maintenance.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/TRAINING 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or commensurate work experience.
Experience/Lived Experience: Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
Experience in defining problems, collecting data and time management.
 Great Plains Software and ADP Payroll experience is required.
Special Skills/Training: Knowledge of accounting practices to understand and interpret various accounting systems.
 Adept knowledge with budgeting and cost accounting principles·
Ability to perform mathematical computation and compute ratios and percentages.·
Knowledge of computer systems; spreadsheets, financial systems, electronic health record systems

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1.Payroll preparation including expense account reconciliation, resolving payroll issues, preparing related journal entries, quarterly 9412 reconciliation, annual W-2 reporting and reconciliation
2.Preparation and audit of cash deposits from clinics and related cash management
3.Grant management, tracking and preparation of monthly journal entries
4.Clerical work including opening and sorting of daily inbound mail to appropriate departments and personnel
5.Performs other duties as assigned.
