About Sontine
Sontine, LCSW started at CommuniCare+OLE in 2016. She received her Masters in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento in 2017 and completed her bachelor’s degree at Yale University. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, Sontine served as the Executive Director of NAMI Sacramento, which is the Sacramento affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Sontine previously worked in psychiatry research at Yale University and Stanford University. She provides individual and group therapy to adult clients and specializes in substance use treatment, perinatal mental health conditions, depression, anxiety and posttraumatic stress disorder.
My approach to care
My care approach is strength-based and I work with my clients to create a safe and caring environment that supports them in achieving their goals. I incorporate aspects of several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and EMDR.
