My approach to care
The word doctor comes from the Latin word for teacher. I believe that my primary role as a doctor is to teach. I strive to share information and access to resources with our patients in a way that makes taking care of themselves easier. Information is power, and I hope to empower our patients to make choices that allow them to live their lives in a way that is the most healthful possible.
Why I went into healthcare
I became a doctor because I am drawn to the opportunity for connection with other people in deep and meaningful ways. I am honored to be invited to share in both the mundane and the monumental moments in our patients’ lives. It is a privilege to travel on the journey toward wellness with my patients. I am grateful to them for the wisdom they share with me along the way.
Something you might not know about me
Something you might not know about me is that I have lived abroad in Argentina and in Costa Rica. I love to travel and explore. I have lived in Davis with my husband for over 30 years. We are blessed with two great kids and two furry dogs. I am a scout leader and I renew my energy in nature, in the back country, backpacking with scouts and teaching them cooking and first aid. I find my creative energy in cooking. Food is my love language. It brings me joy to create a meal and share food and family time with my loved ones.
