After taking a few years off to work for a major US airline and indulge in a love of traveling, he continued his educational pursuits and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry (Philadelphia, PA) in 2006. He then decided to pursue and complete an additional tw0 years of residency training and earned his certificate of specialization in pediatric dentistry from Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center (Brooklyn, NY) in 2011. He obtained his board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2014. This involves taking and passing a rigorous written and oral exam after graduating from residency as well as maintaining additional continuing education every year so that he can provide the most up to date and best quality treatment for children. Prior to Communicare+Ole, he worked in a private pediatric dentistry practice in the Philadelphia area for four years before moving back to Northern California be closer to family. He specializes in seeing children from newborns until they are ready to graduate on to his general dentist colleagues.
My approach to care
My goal as a pediatric dentist is to help raise a generation of children who are not afraid to come to the dentist. I try also to teach and instill in families the importance of maintaining good oral health as it is directly related to the health of the whole body. The mouth is the portal to the entire body. If you have a toothache, you are unable to chew foods and provide the body with the nutrients it needs to maintain itself and grow. Oral pain can also be a source of severe and possibly debilitating discomfort. By teaching how to maintain good oral health habits early on, I’m hoping that none of my patients will ever have to experience anything like this. Seeing my patients that started off as being afraid to sit in the chair to being comfortable and excited to come in for their visits brings great joy to and encouragement to me.
