Dr. Leighton will provide medical leadership to our network of 13 community health clinics
across Napa, Yolo and Solano Counties
Napa, CA (August 31, 2026) – CommuniCare+OLE, a network of 13 community health centers across Napa, Solano, and Yolo counties caring for more than 75,000 patients each year, has appointed Dr. Lynette Leighton as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Leighton will oversee clinical strategy and quality improvement across our organization’s network, partnering closely with our clinical and operational leaders to strengthen quality, expand access, and support providers.
In this role, she will align clinical protocols and standards of care across the network, support provider recruitment and retention, and foster a culture of collaboration and sharing of best practices. Her responsibilities will also include guiding the organization’s response to evolving community health needs, championing preventive care initiatives, and ensuring that clinical operations keep pace with CommuniCare+OLE’s growth.

Since joining CommuniCare+OLE in 2012, Dr. Leighton has served as a family physician, Medical Director of Women’s Health, Medical Director of South Napa Campus, and Interim Associate Chief Medical Officer for Napa and Solano. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of California, Davis and underwent her residency training at University of California, San Francisco. She completed her fellowship in Reproductive Health at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, Dr. Leighton was on the faculty at UCSF, teaching Family and Community Medicine residents. She also worked as a physical therapist, including serving landmine survivors along the Thailand-Burma border.

Dr. Leighton will continue to maintain an active clinical practice so that she can be directly connected to patients and care teams.
